Best starting classes in Baldur's Gate 3

Simplicity is what matters when launching a new character in Baldur's Gate 3. Due to the set of rules it uses, the amount of information is almost overwhelming. Over time, players will be able to absorb more and more information and be able to create more and more complex characters.

Warrior is the best starting class in Baldur's Gate 3

  • Rating: S
  • Saving Throws: Strength (Basic), Endurance.
  • Skills: athletics and intimidation.
  • Armor: light, medium and heavy.
  • Weapons: simple, combat and shields.
  • Recommended race: any.
  • Companion: Laezel.

The simplest class is the Warrior. There are no resources, such as spells or sorcery, to manage. Add to a character the ability to wear and use just about any piece of armor and weapons, and they're pretty adept in any situation.

pros

  • Variety of weapons and armor.
  • The second in terms of health, hardy.
  • The class is great for beginners.

Minuses

  • There are no spells.
  • Equipment dependent.
  • Boring when there is no fight.

Pathfinder

Class Features: A hybrid melee and ranged DPS related to nature, magic and beasts.

  • Rating: B
  • Saving Throws: Dexterity (Basic), Strength.
  • Skills: attention, stealth and survival.
  • Armor: light and ?? middle.
  • Weapons: simple, combat and shields.
  • Recommended race: any.
  • Companion: Minsk.

If you want to stay in the physical realm but want to keep your enemies at bay, play as a ranger. You can also enlist the help of a companion animal to help turn the odds in your favor.

pros

  • Mobility
  • Good long range damage
  • The ability to use the mechanics of animals-companions

Minuses

  • Few spells
  • Sometimes concentration is needed
  • Not useful in the late game. I slay in close combat.

Witch

  • Rating: A
  • Saving Throws: charisma (basic), wisdom.
  • Skills: Magic and Intimidation.
  • Armor: light.
  • Weapon: simple.
  • Recommended Race: Elf, Half-elf, Dwarf, Gnome, Halfling, Githyanki, Tiefling, Human, Drow.
  • Companion: Will.

Those with a penchant for magic will want to turn their eyes to the Sorcerer. While other spellcasters like Wizards and Enchanters can be absolutely devastating, they also have a ridiculous spellbook that can confuse and overwhelm new players.

pros

  • Gifts of the pact
  • Can restore spells in a short amount of time
  • Has good charisma

Minuses

  • Limited list of spells
  • Behind??is from otherworldly discharge
