Saving Wulbren

If you're trying to get to the Moonrise Towers through the Underdark passage, you'll soon find yourself in Grymforge, a duergar (gray dwarf) outpost.

You can get to Grymforge by boarding one of the duergar boats in the Blighted Village, near the Underdark Beach Waypoint. However, it will be full of duergar, so be prepared to fight (or lie) along the way.

Traveling to the outpost, you will find Deep Gnome Slaves. Help the dwarves save Nere and then save them from his wrath. You will learn that Wulbren is in the Moonrise Towers.

If you helped Barcus Wroot earlier, he will come to the rescue. Wulbren is his best friend.

Rescue of the tieflings

As you progress through the second act, you will soon find yourself in the Last Light Inn, one of the few shelters in the shadow-cursed lands. While you're here, you're likely to meet many familiar faces - many of the tiefling refugees who have gone to Baldur's Gate will be here.

If you talk to the refugees, they will tell you that they were ambushed on their way to Baldur's Gate, resulting in numerous tieflings being imprisoned in the Moonrise Towers.

Where are the Moonrise Towers

There are several ways to get into the Moonrise Tower prison. It is desirable to reach level 5.

The easiest way to enter the tower as a True Soul is through the eastern entrance to the towers. Walk past two chatty oh??annikov and turn right to get to the prison cells. You can also follow the blood trail.

Wulbren is in the second chamber, and the tieflings are in the fourth.

Saving Wulbren

Method 1: Supplying the Dwarves with Tools

Interaction with prisoners will annoy the guards patrolling the prison area. If you pumped persuasion and deceit, then you can convince the guards that you have every right to be here.

Wulbren may be suspicious of you, but as soon as he hears the name Barcus, he will calm down.

Barcus needs a tool to break through the weak stone wall at the back of the cells. Give him a weapon so he can deal bludgeoning damage.

The guards will notice the escape, try to distract them so that as few gnomes as possible get hurt.

Levers in the warden's office

Alternatively, you can free the prisoners using the levers in the warden's office, southeast of Wulbren's cell. The levers correspond to each prison door, so click on the levers of the second and fourth cells to free the gnomes and tieflings.

However, this method is significantly more risky, because then the gnomes will try to escape through the front door, and the guards will notice them.

Rescue of the tieflings

After the deep gnomes escape by breaking the cell wall, they will automatically try to help the tieflings.

Distract the guards, as tieflings are more fragile creatures than deep gnomes and can easily die from a single attack from the guards.

After the coast is cleared, the refugees will gather at a nearby pier and commandeer a boat for their escape. You will be able to lead them back to the Last Light Tavern.

Talk to Alfira and collect your reward.
