I would like to add that you can improve the stalls of merchants, so that they can offer you new goods and services.

List:

• Danos: leads construction projects. Builds and improves attractions in Sacramente.
  
• Captain Randolph: offers monster hunts and other challenges in exchange for rewards.
  
• Fillmore: improves and repairs weapons/equipment. He also sells blueprints, weapons, and tools.
  
• Eleanor: enchants and enhances weapons and equipment. She also sells weapon runes, gems, and blueprints.
  
• Whittaker: sells wooden materials such as chests, chairs, tables, and pine boards. He also sells blueprints and wooden bows.
  
• Grinnich: sells recipe ingredients, consumables, copper ingots, and clay.
  
• Mira and Meri: sells armor and materials to improve or craft it.
  
• Gordon: sells food and cooking recipes.
  
• Watcher: expands inventory in exchange for poison of doom.
  

And yes, do not destroy items under any circumstances. You won't get anything for it! You should sell them instead.
