Thalamus is one of the many ingredients in Hades 2 that you will need to activate spells. Unlike other more common resources, including Dust, Will, Thalamus and its seeds are more difficult to obtain.
Thalamus is needed for the Unraveling of a Fateful Bond spell, which allows Melinoa to survive on the surface (and gain bronze for unlocking all weapons). To create the spell, you need 2 lotus, 2 moss, 2 thalamus, and 2 rabies.
The lotus and wheatgrass are fairly simple. Lotus grows on the Ocean location, where you will get after killing Hecate, and wheatgrass seeds can be dug up at the excavation sites in Erebus, having unlocked the shovel beforehand. The moss is easy enough to find. Just go up to the surface and look for green clumps on the ground. Pick them up as soon as possible, even though Melinoa is losing health.
Things are much more complicated with the thalamus, as you won't be able to find a ready-made plant. To grow thalamus, you will need seeds from the source.
The seeds of this plant can only be found in the Realm of Chaos. Be sure to take a shovel with you and then head to the Underworld. At some point, a Chaos Gate will appear on the location, which will lead you to the Chaos Realm. Look in there and find a mound of earth that you can dig up to get the source seeds.
You will need two seeds to complete the quest, so keep visiting the Chaos world until you get both items.
With the two source seeds, return to the Crossroads. Plant the seeds in the soil you should have already unlocked with another spell. The source seeds grow for seven minutes, so go on another sortie or visit the surface. When the source seeds are fully grown, you can collect the thalamus and complete the Unraveling of a Fateful Bond spell.
