To begin, you need to locate the bookshelf. Head to the Reading Room. Once you solve the bookshelf puzzle, you’ll unlock Room 205, which contains the suitcase.

In Room 205, you can find clues for the suitcase code. Look for three photographs scattered around the room; each one varies in difficulty.

Next, you'll need to acquire the paint bucket from Room 318. This item becomes available only after you obtain the Cinderella figurine for the Music Box. After the confrontation in the conference room, push aside the cabinet and break through the wall between Rooms 316 and 317. This will grant you access to Room 318, where the paint bucket sits on the coffee table.

You can also find wire cutters in the utility room on the 3rd floor. Head to that utility room and take the wire cutters from the shelf.

Use the wire cutters to cut the locks on the gate, allowing you to retrieve the light bulb from the fountain located in the Lakeview Hotel garden.

Next, shoot the glass window on the balcony of Room 217 to obtain the can opener. Any firearm, whether it's a pistol, shotgun, or rifle, can do the job. Once the can opener drops from the window, collect it inside the Lake Shore Restaurant on the 1st floor.

Now, combine the can opener with the paint bucket to create an open paint bucket. Following that, mix the open paint bucket with the light bulb to form a red light bulb.

How to Combine Items

Return to Room 205 and place the red light bulb into the makeup mirror. Don’t forget to remove the broken light bulb first. After you do this, the suitcase code will be revealed on the mirror.

Accessing the Suitcase in Silent Hill 2 Remake

The suitcase is found inside Room 205 of the Lakeview Hotel, where the makeup mirror is also situated. You can unlock Room 205 by completing the bookshelf puzzle. Once you enter the code, you will receive the Service Elevator Key.
