The Importance of Companions

In Dragon Age: The Veilguard, as in previous games in the series, companions play a key role. Their presence in the party not only enhances combat capabilities, but also affects storylines, romantic relationships, and even the final outcome.

The Importance of Relationships with Companions

Each companion has a personal quest, the completion of which will strengthen your relationship. In addition, you can start a romantic relationship with each of them, which will require gaining their trust by completing quests and regularly communicating in the Lighthouse. Strong relationships with companions not only increase effectiveness in combat and open up new joint skills, but also directly affect their survival and, therefore, the end of the game.

How to Find and Recruit All Companions

There are 7 companions available in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, who are met automatically during the main storyline in the first half of the game. Each companion belongs to a specific class and one of six factions. Romance is possible with any of them.

List of companions:

• Nitka Harding: Dwarven warrior (known from Dragon Age: Inquisition).

• Nev Gallas: Human mage associated with the Shadow Dragons.

• Bellara Luthar: Elven mage of the Veilwalkers guild.

• Lucanis Dellamorte: Human thief associated with the Antivan Crows.

• Davrin: Human warrior associated with the Grey Wardens.

• Emmrik Wolkarin: Human mage of the Sorrow Watch.

• Taash: Qunaari warrior of the Lords of Fortune.

• Details on finding and recruiting each companion

Nitka Harding: Joins automatically in the prologue and remains with the party until the end. Will be injured if you decide to take her after destroying the statue and stopping Solas' ritual, which will affect her behavior.

Nev Gallas: Joins in the prologue. Will be similarly injured if she participates in stopping the ritual, which will temporarily change her attitude towards you.

Bellara Lutar: Met and joins the party in the Arlathan forests during the quest "In the Labyrinth of Entropy".

Lucanis Dellamorte: Appears after visiting Treviso and starting the quest "Blood Sea" in the underwater lab. A choice between Haven and Treviso is necessary to meet him.

Davrin: Joins at the beginning of the quest "A Warden's Best Friend" in the wasteland after visiting Haven.

Emmrik Wolcarin: Joins during the mission "Where the Dead Should Be" in the Necropolis of Nevarra. You can pre-recruit Taash by completing the quest "Dragon Slayer", but the order does not matter.

Taash: Meets and joins the party in Rivain during the quest "Dragon Slayer" for the Lords of Fortune guild.

Companion Death and Departure

Any companion can die in The Veilguard. The probability of death depends on the level of trust in the protagonist. The game warns of danger for each companion. It is important to note that until the 12th mission, no companion will die.

To increase the chances of survival of companions, it is necessary to complete faction tasks and personal quests for each companion, as well as maintain regular communication with them in the Lighthouse (when the "speech bubble" icon appears).
