As you explore the various biomes of Valheim for additional resources, you will come to the conclusion that the best ones are found underground. The metal is needed to craft an iron pickaxe, which is needed to mine silver, an important component for high-level recipes. Although iron can be found in meteorite craters, the most suitable place to mine it is sunken crypts in the Swamp biome.

These are small stone buildings in the Swamp with torches and iron gates. They will lead the player to a dungeon where various resources and enemies are located. However, the gate can only be opened if you have the key to the crypt. To get it, you have to fight the Ancient One.

How to summon and defeat the Elder in Valheim

Let's go to the Black Forest. Ready?Join the battle with gnomes and dwarf shamans. It is necessary to take three ancient seeds from them. These seeds must be placed on the altar. The location of the altar is different for each player. Interact with ancient runestones in the Blackwood Burial Chambers. To summon the Boss, place all three seeds in the bowl of fire.

The boss will appear along with trolls or gray dwarfs.

The Elder Boss is a bipedal tree-like humanoid creature. It has three attacks: stomp, strike with long vines or roots. Try to run away, the boss will follow you. It is difficult to defeat him, so prepare for a tough battle and stock up on arrows, health potions and food. You can also fight this boss with friends in co-op mode. Thus, the chances of winning will increase.

After defeating the boss, pick up the key to the crypt. It will open any sunken crypt in the swamps, granting access to new treasures, tougher battles, and improved equipment.
