How to tame a boar in Valheim

We tell you how to tame boars in the recently released survival game about the Vikings who got into the underworld of Valhalla

Boars can be found in the meadows, but before you go to them, you need to prepare. Once you can tame a few, ensure you have a constant supply of leather and meat!

First, collect some wood and head to the workbench where you need to create panels for the fence. Stock up on berries, carrots and mushrooms to feed and calm the boar a little. At the first meeting, the boar will probably get angry and attack you. But don't worry, the damage will not be so severe as to kill even the most inexperienced Viking with one blow. However, just in case, I recommend wearing leather armor.

How to tame a boar in Walheim:

1. Build a paddock with a gate.
2. Scare the boar and make sure it's chasing you.
3. Lure him into the corral and close the gate.

Throw food into the pen: you can leave heaps of mushrooms, raspberries, blueberries, or carrots on the ground. Just open your inventory and left click on the piglet and then left click again where you want to place the food.

The boar adapts after a few days. Hover over an animal to see how it relates to you. After successfully taming a boar, you can pet it.

How to breed boars in Walheim

When you make a corral filled with tamed boars, you can start breeding them. We recommend expanding the pen and killing two or three boars every few days to make room for the young.

Carrots and mushrooms are the best boar breeding foods in Valheim. After they eat, the couple will stand next to each other, pink hearts will begin to appear. The process has started! They will make a screeching sound and then a piglet will appear next to them. You can interact with the pig after it turns into a boar.
