The character class is the main attribute that defines your hero.
Not only does it affect the distribution of your stats and abilities, it also determines your subsequent play style, the presence of additional dialogue branches and options for interaction. The class also plays an important role when it comes to critical situations that are related to combat.
Below you can find a description of the three available character classes in Torment Tides of Numenera. We will focus on the play style that best suits a particular class.
The Blades are the elite warriors of the Ninth World. During combat, they use armor and weapons. They are the archetype of the warrior and prefer to solve problems with force.
If you decide to make your main character a Blade, you will receive the following bonuses:

Opportunist. Ends the attempt immediately. Perform a basic attack on the first enemy within weapon range to move. Acquire additional 15% Attack Damage gained this way.
Trained in defense. Purchase armor cost reduction by 3 speed, armor cost reduction by 3 strength. Makes up for 15% of the reduction in Esoteric Attacks caused by using Armor.
The blade is the prototype of the warrior. He solves problems by force - either in combat or by intimidating opponents in dialogue. You can also choose the type of weapon that the Blade will specialize in. It is either a heavy, two-handed, or medium weapon with a shield.
You choose whether to play the Blade with a priority on defense or create a character that is more flexible in combat, using the speed and weakening of enemies. The Blade is the only Torment Tides of Numenera class that can choose a 15% bonus to the damage increase of the selected weapon - heavy, tactical, light, melee or ranged.
