This is not the only coincidence, because the mysterious image of the eye can be found not only in the locations of this game, but also seen in the first part of Little Nightmares. There were constant eyeballs on various structures that burned Six as soon as she entered their line of sight. For a simple coincidence, this symbol comes across to the player too often, right?
Let's go through the finale, in which everything was also not so obvious. Mono and Six meet the Mysteries?a dead man in a black hat who kidnaps a girl, leaving the hero alone with the decaying world. Mono successfully overcomes all the trials and wins the battle against the Thin Man in the Hat. Before the battle, the boy opens his face and gets rid of the headdress. The Hero goes looking for Six and finds an enlarged evil version of her, who is guarding her music box.
Mono manages to bring the girl back to reality and friends have to run away from an amorphous pile of meat with a huge number of eyes. Before entering the real world, Six releases Mono, who is hanging on a ledge, who eventually falls into the abyss and, having passed through an unknown substance with eyes, climbs onto a chair that previously belonged to a man in a hat. Then you can see how the boy, after a while, gradually turns into that very strange man who pursued the children in the last chapters.
The theme of zombification of humanity is the main theme in the game and sweeps through all corners of the Pale City. The tower changes not only the reality for all adults, but also their inner world, depriving them of their usual?? human form. For example, all the inhabitants of the city have faces twisted into a spiral. And this is not the last coincidence. All these spiral-shaped signs come across as often as the symbols with an eye. In a psychiatric hospital, a leaflet is hanging in the torture room with an electric chair. The entire city is distorted by the impulses coming out of the tower, so the heroes are constantly surrounded by twisted or curved houses.
The main purpose of the tower is to isolate society, break any human relationships and control what is happening. A sort of analogue of the state system. That is why people in the Pale City no longer communicate with each other. They are buried in the TV and do not notice what is happening around, they are ready to jump from the roof and go to the call of the tower. This means that there is something in the tower that can distort the minds of living beings in such a way and deform the appearance of the city.
Based on this, there is another important purpose for the existence of a structure with an eye. It is a protective shell of the substance that lives inside. This can be seen at the end of the game, when Mono briefly breaks the effect of illusions and reveals the real image of the creature. Poet??mu Mono and need substance. At first, the hero follows him on his own, but towards the end of the game, a man in a hat crawls out of the TV and follows, as if pushing Mono to move straight to the tower.
The connection between Mono and the Thin Man can be guessed much earlier if one pays attention to Mono and his initial attempts to move through the television boxes. Climbing in and out was only possible for the mysterious man and his protégé. And did he really want to harm the child?
It's more like the man in the hat exerts moral pressure on the hero. He slowly follows the child's trail, each time allowing him to escape at the last moment. The villain even takes Six in front of Mono in order to force her to go to the tower. But what really connects them: a direct relationship or another trick of the substance, recreated with the help of charms?
The most likely theory, in which the main role is assigned only to Mono, and the man in the hat is just an insane projection represented by the substance. The demonic being feeds on the powers of the right children who are ready to resist evil. Gradually, their capabilities end, so the demonic entity is constantly in search of new victims.
At some point in time, she discovers Mono, who is able to single-handedly feed the tower with powers. The creature, with its last strength, decides to catch the child in its nets at all costs, so it sends a projection after it, which constantly moves in jerks and dissolves in front of Mono. In addition, the identity of the forces of the tower only enhances the capabilities of the child, who is easily destroyedt acting witchcraft.
Throughout the game, children come across chaotic remains. These are some phantoms of children who ended up in the clutches of a man in a hat. It is worth paying attention to how Mono absorbs these projections. He seems to feel the pain and emotions of each child, passing them through himself.

The girl lets go of her hand and her friend falls into the abyss. So why couldn't Six be able to save her friend after all the tests she passed and threw Mono to be eaten by the system?

Describing this more negative version of the final events is rather difficult from the point of view of the average player. The most unlikely interpretation, in which it is assumed that the substance infiltrated the body of the Sixth and forced her to throw her friend into the abyss. The only confirmation of this theory can be a further development of events, thought out by the essence of the tower, in which it was surprisingly able to send an impulse to the Sixth after its release.
