The upcoming horror The Texas Chain Saw Massacre will be another asymmetrical multiplayer game. But don't be too quick to draw parallels with Dead By Daylight , as Texas Chainsaw Massacre will use a completely different formula: three killers fighting four survivors.
Wes Keltner, CEO of Gun Interactive, explained in a blog post that dropping the four-on-one model would allow for a much better reflection of the source material:
We don't want to create the same game twice. You either invent or imitate. Gun Interactive staff prefer to innovate and push the genre forward.
How? Well, when it came to the design of the Texas, we were well aware of the difference between the 3vs4 model. All mechanics and features are built around this fundamental rethinking of asymmetric multiplayer. In the movie of '74, the survivors faced not just one maniac, but the entire Leatherface family.
To make it look realistic, Keltner and his team create objects to hide behind, diluted with open rooms that you have to slowly move around. Also, players who want to find a new shelter will have to overcome narrow corridors.
The success of the title is quite expected.
New heroes, new challenges.
Deadpool's world is dying.
No release date for the adaptation has been given yet.
