Several Elden Ring fans have discovered illusory walls that only disappear after dozens of hits. It's brutal, even though we're talking about a game from FromSoftware. But there is a possibility that such walls appeared in the game unintentionally.
As is tradition in all Souls-like games since Demon's Souls, illusory or fake walls can be found. Hitting them (or rolling them) reveals secret passages that lead to a variety of secrets, including weapons, armor, items, or optional bosses. For most fake walls, it only takes one good hit to see the secret path, but a few walls have now been reported that disappear after a dozen hits. One of the Reddit users under the nickname Teristam showed a wall that disappeared after 50 hits!
It is not necessary to assume that the video above is a fake or a glitch that a player with a pirated version encountered. The fact of the presence of such a wall in Elden Ring was immediately confirmed by several other gamers. Gabe Gurvin of GameSpot stated that he went through the same wall after 45 hits.
Developer Andrew Goldfarb from Sucker Punch joined in to test this “phenomenon”: moreover, a little further in the same tunnel, he discovered another wall that succumbed after several blows. To me, this is outrageous, and the presence of the second wall proves that this is not some kind of one-time failure.
Let's hope that this is a banal glitch that the developers will fix soon. Otherwise, one can only guess how many secrets will remain undiscovered.
