Representatives of the studio Konami shared details about the release of eFootball 2022 , which, according to the publisher, led to a resounding failure of the project.
The interview indicates that the company wanted to have time to release the simulator by the start of the new European season, and therefore the development team simply did not have time to bring eFootball 2022 to a normal state. Changing the generation of consoles, switching the game to a free-to-play format, changing the engine - all this in total gave a negative result.
Along with this, Konami analyzed the feedback from the players after the release and based on them released a major patch 1.0.0 aimed at fixing technical errors. True, this did not affect the popularity of eFootball 2022 (more precisely, its absence).
