Gamescom is just around the corner - tomorrow, late in the evening of August 24, Capcom may announce a remake of the fourth part of the classic series. In principle, the news is not that unexpected: after the success of Resident Evil 3, it became obvious that the next remake of the series will be exactly RE4, and not some kind of Code Veronica. The release is reportedly slated for 2022.
According to preliminary information, the producer of the original Shinji Mikami is working on Ghostwire: Tokyo , so he has no choice but to give his blessing to other developers to create a RE4 remake. The entry from the Twitter account says 4, itchy, tasty, which can literally be translated as "4, itchy, yummy." This is a reference to one of the most famous texts within the series - from the diary of the keeper in Resident Evil 1, the owner of which gradually succumbs in the fight to the T-virus.
There is no other news besides this one. Twitter's main focus is on the upcoming Resident Evil Village patch.
