The recently released Skyrim Together Reborn co-op mod is off to a fantastic start. In fact, since the release of the mod last Friday, the number of downloads has exceeded 50,000.
Along with this new mod for The Elder Scrolls 5, the Together team has also released a small update. Calling their work a "passionate project" by a small group of volunteers, the developers said they tested it with "30+ players" online.
The goal of the mod is to create a true Skyrim multiplayer experience that brings online multiplayer into a single player game.
The team has also uploaded a new video detailing the installation process of the mod (see below), as well as offering a new game guide and tutorial for all users. According to her, before installing the mod, it is important to familiarize yourself with all the material provided.
Turning a single player game into a multiplayer game is next to impossible without source code, especially with a development team of a few students doing it for free in their spare time.
Please keep this in mind when playing Reborn. The mod won't be perfect. From time to time it will crash, some quests will be broken, errors will appear. This is all hard to fix. It makes sense when a small team is working instead of a big studio like Bethesda to create a multiplayer mod. However, it is still playable and much more fun than the old Skyrim Together mod that was the basis for Reborn.
