Nordisk Games has acquired Supermassive Games, the developer behind iconic horror titles like Until Dawn and The Dark Pictures Anthology .
Supermassive itself released an announcement in which it indicated that in the course of 2021, Nordisk acquired a 30.7% stake in the British studio. And the moment came when in 2022 Nordisk bought all 100% of the shares. After that, Supermassive became the third studio, all rights to which were completely transferred to the Nordisk case.
Pete Samuels, CEO of Supermassive Games, spoke about the deal:
It has been just over a year since Nordisk Games made the initial investment in Supermassive Games and our vision for the future. During this time, we have found that we and Nordisk share many common values, and we believe that these values are equally important to our existing commercial partners, whom we will continue to support.
With such a positive experience over the past year, it was an easy decision to make when Nordisk Games wanted to explore the possibility of increasing their investment. We have an exciting and ambitious growth strategy for Supermassive Games, and having it now owned by Nordisk Games only adds to the hope for the future. I'm very excited about where this partnership will take us with continued access to the Nordisk Games experience.
