State Duma deputy proposes to ban games with soldiers from unfriendly countries

State Duma Deputy Yevgeny Fedorov proposed to limit the sale of video games for PC and consoles from military unfriendly countries. The list may include games in which gamers are offered to play for a soldier from such a state. For example, USA.

The deputy noted that Russia "for many years" has been making significant efforts to patriotic education among children and youth.

Today, video games for personal computers (PCs) and game consoles are freely sold in the country, in which the main characters are military personnel or representatives of special units of unfriendly countries, and the player must simulate their actions. Thus, a situation is emerging when states officially recognized as unfriendly supply weapons to Ukraine used against the Russian military, and at the same time, video games are being implemented in Russia that promote the heroic image of the US military or other states among young people.
