The developers of the game STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl answered journalists' questions about why Microsoft decided to return the money to users who pre-ordered the project for Xbox Series consoles. According to representatives of the studio GSC Game World, the main reason is the postponement of the release date.

So far, the team does not know when they will be able to prepare a more or less playable version of the shooter. For this reason, they did not provide a release date, and this is the reason for Microsoft to return the funds to its customers. The developers assured that as soon as they decide on the date, owners of Xbox consoles will be able to pre-order again.

This situation does not apply to owners of personal computers, no one returns their money.
