Thanks to this, the game will offer users a completely new visual and gaming experience. System requirements and performance remain the same. The rework has affected lighting and shadows, visual effects, the physical model of cars, colors, interface and controls, soundtrack - literally every aspect of the game! The update is called Crossout: Supercharged and will be released on October 25th.
Global Illumination technology, implemented in Targem Engine 2.0, allows you to accurately calculate reflected and scattered light, so that the picture in low-light and completely shadowed areas will become more voluminous and textured. Contact shadows (SSC) and local screen space reflections (SSLR) help to correctly draw shadows and reflections of objects of any size and on any surface, including water. Post-processing effects Motion Blur, Lens Flare, Bloom bring the image in the game closer to realistic, simulating shooting on photo and video equipment. All of these changes are available on all platforms, including PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
In Crossout Supercharged, each post-apocalyptic armored car, carefully assembled by the player from thousands of available parts, behaves on the track and in battle in its own way. The new wheel physics and camera make handling more immersive and the feeling of speed increases. The suspension realistically reacts to turns, sharp starts and stops, and driving over obstacles. The interaction with the environment has been more accurately worked out - for example, the grip and wheel effects have been improved, slippage at the start has been added. Explosions have also become more spectacular, more diverse and more believable: the parts flying off from the destroyed armored car have an impulse, a burnt skeleton and traces of fire remain on the ground, the effects of the destruction of generators, engines and fuel barrels have been reworked.
The work of many parts and individual controls and interface in the game has been reworked. For example, in Crossout Supercharged, it has become more convenient to use cars with a chassis that allows you to move in any direction, such as mechanical legs or hovers. Now you can turn and strafe them in the usual way for shooters, which makes the control much more comfortable, especially on consoles. In addition, animations and effects have been improved for hovercraft, and the hovercraft began to behave more realistically, working out each movement taking into account the position of its center of mass. The legs, on the other hand, have received updated physics of movement and now transfer weight better and can "push" almost any other chassis.
The project is codenamed Half-Life X.
