Bungie, developer of Destiny 2 , is looking for new hires in an attempt to adapt its sci-fi shooter for "television, film, books, comics and audio formats".
According to The Game Post , the new job listing for Senior Development Lead identifies "projects that will expand the Destiny franchise in new directions" and also mentions some potential areas. Bungie has yet to announce anything - no TV shows, no movies with books or comics, although do not forget that the studio has already released full-fledged books. Apparently, the developers will not stop there. The goal seems to be "to tell additional stories about the Destiny universe that will delight fans and capture the hearts and minds of new audiences."
Currently, this is the only vacancy from Bungie that is clearly focused on "transmedia" projects. Earlier this year, CEO Pete Prasons announced plans to "tell new stories in the Destiny universe," helped by the opening of the first international studio in Amsterdam and the expansion of Bungie's Bellevue out of Washington. It is also known that the studio intends to release another game, which takes place in parallel with Destiny 2. This will happen somewhere in the next four years. Support for Destiny 2 won't end for the next few years, with 3 major expansions coming out each year. After the end of the Light and Darkness saga, new content will appear.
The project is codenamed Half-Life X.
