Chris Hemsworth is suspected of having Alzheimer's disease. Actor puts career on hold

While filming Limitless, a documentary series for National Geographic, the actor learned that he had a genetic predisposition to Alzheimer's disease.

Chris Hemsworth carries two copies of the gene. This means that the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease is quite high. The actor decided to put his career on pause.

Despite the fact that the actor does not have Alzheimer's disease, he is very worried:

Yes, it's like one in a thousand people... or one in 10,000. I can't remember. But the probability is eight to ten times higher. Since I was told this, I feel like my memory is getting worse. Of course, this is just a placebo effect. What bothered me was that I didn't want to manipulate it and dramatize it and turn it into some kind of joking attempt at empathy or something for fun. It really made me want to take a little time out. Since we filmed the show, I've been finishing up some deals that were signed, and now that I'm done with the tour this week, I'm going to go home and take a good chunk of my free time to just relax. Stay with the kids, with the wife.

Chris played the role of Thor in four parts of the Marvel films of the same name. Perhaps the actor will return to this role.

Look, I'm completely open to it if there's something unique and fresh and unexpected to do with the character and the world. I have always enjoyed this experience. I was very grateful that every time I was able to do something new.
