State Duma deputies rejected amendments to a bill banning LGBT propaganda and violence in games distributed on the territory of the Russian Federation. Earlier, we recall that the initiators of the resolution proposed to ban the sale of all games that contain elements of the modern agenda or violence in any of its manifestations.
Officials sensibly reasoned that if the project is approved in this format, then the gaming industry in Russia can be put a fat cross. She is so lame on both legs after the imposition of sanctions by the West and Europe, and if her own people work against companies, then developers (and many commercial trading platforms) will simply have to curtail their business.
At the same time, the initiative was not completely abandoned, but it was clarified that it needs to be worked out in more detail so that it works as planned, and does not become a kind of “shot in the foot” for domestic game development.
