Ubisoft scrapped the idea of releasing a Battle Royale based on Watch Dogs

According to Arabhardware , Ubisoft shut down Watch Dogs.EXE at the end of 2022. The game was supposed to be a free-to-play battle royale with a focus on stealth mechanics.

About 50 people could take part in one match. The Japanese city of Tokyo would be the first location. Its size can be compared to Camden from Watch Dogs: Legion. Ubisoft also planned to add cities such as Paris and Toronto to the game. Hundreds of NPCs should have been displayed on the map. When killed, the hunt opens.

The exact reason for the termination of development is still unknown. All project developers are now working on the XDefiant title.
