In God of War Ragnarok, Kratos will have several shields with different abilities

In God of War Ragnarok, Kratos will be able to use a variety of shields, which are endowed with unique abilities, which will help him in the battle against Thor.

Speaking to YouTuber Jon Ford, game director Eric Williams revealed that Kratos will be able to unlock and find several shields in the sequel:

I don't want to get into it, but yes, there are different shields and they have different defense options and abilities. The reason they are there is because we want to give [players] the widest choice to develop Kratos, including equipment and such.

Recall that in God of War from 2018, Kratos could use only one shield. The game will be released on PS5 sometime in 2022.
