Game designer Dead Island 2 Adam Duckett said that in general, the players will take about 20 hours. At this time, the passage of side quests was taken into account.
“According to our estimates, it will take about 20 hours to complete an important path with one character and complete side quests. Again, this was our design choice. We understand that people want to do something other than gaming, so we wanted to focus on making the experience as enjoyable as possible."
The design director also noted that the development of Dead Island 2 took into account the possibility of replay. This may be why the open world game is shorter than other similar games. Gamers are waiting for unique characters to choose from and a deck building system at the heart of the game.
Dead Island 2 releases on April 21st. The game will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC (via the Epic Games Store).
