A new Perfect Dark game is being developed alongside Crystal Dynamics, part of Square Enix and responsible for the recent Tomb Raider , Marvel's Avengers and Gex trilogy. This information appeared yesterday from the main studio involved in the development of games in the series - The Initiative.
We've partnered with Crystal Dynamics, the world-class team behind games like Tomb Raider, to bring the first-person spy thriller to the next generation. The teams could not miss the chance to work together. We are still at the beginning of the journey, but are incredibly excited to use this unique opportunity to realize the vision of Perfect Dark!
The Initiative is a new studio based in Los Angeles. The company has yet to release a game, but is led by Darrell Gallagher, who spent 10 years at Crystal Dynamics working on the Tomb Raider series. Another former Crystal employee is Daniel Neuburger. The Initiative also included former members of BioWare, Sony Santa Monica, Blizzard and so on.
Perfect Dark doesn't have a date or approximate release window yet. Looks like development only started in July.
