Activision Blizzard agrees to pay $18 million

A high-profile US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission lawsuit against Activision Blizzard is ongoing, alleging that the video game publisher subjected employees to sexual harassment, pregnancy discrimination and/or stalking.

The EEOC complaint notes that the investigation against Activision Blizzard began in September 2018. The commission claims that "some employees complained of sexual harassment" and that Activision Blizzard "knew or should have known" about these complaints, but the company "did nothing to change the situation." The EEOC lawsuit differs from a similar complaint filed in July by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing.

It became known that Activision Blizzard agreed with all the charges and is ready to pay the repayment amount in full. And this is $ 18 million, which will go "to compensate and indemnify the plaintiffs." The money that remains after compensation is paid to applicants will go to "charities that support women in the video game industry or promote awareness of harassment and gender equality issues, as well as initiatives for diversity, fairness and company inclusion."
