Variety reports that production on Season 2 of The Last of Us has been put on hold. The reason for the delay was the strike of members of the US Screenwriters Guild, who once again demand the creation of suitable working conditions for themselves.
At the time of the start of the strike, the authors of the series were selecting actors for the new season, and the script itself had not even begun to be created. Craig Mazin, who serves as the project's showrunner, is rumored to be one of the active picketers now. The second showrunner, Neil Druckmann, has not yet been heard from, but apparently he is not working on the series either.
It is not known when the writers' strike will end. Last time, a similar situation lasted for 100 days.
