BioWare no longer owns the rights to Star Wars: The Old Republic

Information has appeared on the network indicating that the further development of the Star Wars: The Old Republic universe will not be handled by BioWare. According to the source material, Electronic Arts will entrust this task to the Broadsword Online Games team, which will work on the concept of an online franchise project.

As for BioWare, this organization will be responsible for the development of offline franchises like Dragon Age and Mass Effect. But, most likely, part of the team will still go to work at Broadsword Online Games, as the local specialists have the unique knowledge necessary to further support SWTOR.

In the future, according to EA, the game will receive a lot of new content, as the franchise is still showing interest from the audience.
