According to information from the editor-in-chief of the World of Reel portal, Jordan Ruimi, the creators of the film adaptation of "Five Nights at Freddy's" intend to release its sequel. Filming of the second part of the film is scheduled for spring 2024, and the premiere of the film is scheduled for the end of October.
Back in November 2023, the film's director, Emma Tammy, expressed her desire to create a sequel. At the time, actor Matthew Lillard, who played the role of William Afton in the film adaptation, expressed the possibility of creating the project. Official confirmation of the sequel has not yet been announced by Blumhouse Productions and Universal Pictures.
The film adaptation of "Five Nights at Freddy's" was released in theaters and on the Peacock streaming service on October 27, 2023. Despite the low ratings from critics, it received positive reviews from audiences, currently holding 31% and 87% ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, respectively.
The film managed to gross $289 million against a budget of $20 million at the box office. The film also set several records, including the best opening in Blumhouse history, the highest-grossing release of the Halloween holiday season, and the third-highest opening for a horror film.
