In the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, known as Project Orion, the protagonist's backstory will play a key role in the plot, according to CD Projekt RED's Philipp Weber.
Unlike the original game, where the prologues didn't have much impact, Project Orion promises greater integration of backstories into the main story.
