Cyberpunk 2077 fans are solving a mystery, suggesting that they have found a hint of the location of the game's sequel. A Reddit user under the nickname QueenCobra91 has suggested that one of the game's billboards hints at the time and location of the sequel. The billboard says that in 2080, you can get from Chicago to Knight City in just three hours.
Some gamers believe that this could be a hint of the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel taking place in Chicago in 2080. However, not everyone agrees with this opinion, noting that the billboard has been present in the game since its release in 2020. There are those who claim that the number of such billboards increased after the release of patches and the Phantom Liberty add-on, when the sequel was already announced.
Fans are also critical of the possible change of location. Knight City has always been an important part of the franchise, and many consider it almost a separate character in the series. While CD Projekt RED's senior screenwriter, Magdalena Zych, has conceded that the events of the sequel could extend beyond the central city, the idea of Chicago as the game's setting has drawn a variety of opinions.
Despite the controversy, CD Projekt RED studio has already started active development of the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, codenamed Project Orion. Perhaps additional details will become known during the development of the project.
