Bethesda has released a beta version of a major update for the Starfield game on Steam. This update contains over 100 improvements focusing mainly on graphics and quests. Some of the changes include improved support for widescreen modes, improved eye and skin textures for characters, improved reflections on water, improved lighting in 73 locations and bug fixes for 32 quests including Absolute Power, Background Checks, Drinks on the House and more.
The fixes also include a bug that could cause an asteroid to chase a ship in space, as well as a bug where a character's eyes remained closed in third-person view. In addition, the problem with invisible creatures on certain planets has been resolved.
The full list of changes is available at the link. The beta will be made available to players on Steam, and the update will become available to the general public in a few weeks. Bethesda plans to release updates every six weeks, making them available in beta format on the Steam platform beforehand.
Starfield 2024 is also expected to receive a story add-on called Shattered Space, as well as updates including city maps, new vehicles, mod support, and improved ship customization.
