Paradox Interactive has announced that it has discontinued support for its space strategy game Star Trek Infinite, which means no future updates, including both content updates and standard patches.
Paradox's official statement does not reveal the specific reasons behind the decision to stop development of Star Trek Infinite, but it is speculated that the game failed to attract enough audience attention. Despite utilizing the famous Star Trek universe, the maximum number of concurrent players in Star Trek Infinite on Steam was only 5,526, and recently the peak online has been less than 150 players.
Fans have suggested that the decision to end support for the game could have been made long before the official announcement, given that the last update was released in early December 2023, after which there was no news from the developers.
