The game is still trying to keep afloat.
Starbreeze is still working on improving Payday 3 after its disappointing launch. The Swedish studio has released a major update for the co-op shooter, introducing a number of new features to the game, both following player requests and bringing back some features from the previous installment.
Key changes include:
- A quick play feature has been introduced, allowing players to connect to heists at a selected difficulty level.
- After completing a match, players can vote for the option to stay on the current team.
- Improved overall game stability, reducing crashes: Starbreeze claims to have fixed 90% of server crashes and 70% of client crashes.
- Added a shock grenade, available at level 39 dishonor.
- It is now possible to skip the initial video before each mission.
- Introduced the ability to climb into a van to escape, as was the case in the second part of the game.
- Added unique inspection animations for assault rifles, including the KU-59, Northwest B-9, CAR-4, and VF-7S models.
- Fixed performance issues on the Xbox Series S console.
In mid-February, Starbreeze unveiled a plan to revitalize Payday 3 called Operation Medic Bag, which is set to run all the way through 2024.
This cooperative heist shooter is available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and the Game Pass catalog.
