At the end of March, journalist Tom Henderson revealed details about the difficulties in the development of the shooter XDefiant. Among other things, he said that Ubisoft decided not to release the game on the previous generation consoles PS4 and Xbox One.
On May 2, Ubisoft San Francisco confirmed this information. Initially it was assumed that XDefiant will appear on older platforms some time after the release of newer devices. The studio said in a statement: “We are committed to maintaining a high standard of game quality, so we decided to focus on current generation consoles. Thank you for your understanding!
XDefiant is scheduled for release on May 21. At launch, this conventionally free-to-play shooter will feature 14 maps, 5 modes, 5 factions, and 24 weapons. During the four seasons following the game's release, the developers plan to add 4 new factions, 12 weapons, and 12 maps.
Reynolds fought the reporters as best he could.
We will also be shown new gameplay.
There is little information, so the shooter could be based on the StarCraft, Warcraft universe, or a completely new IP.
On the evening of November 14, 2024, Obsidian began accepting pre-orders for its new RPG Avowed on all major platforms, including the Russian Steam.
The project is codenamed Half-Life X.
