The Nextgen version of Fallout 4 has received an update

Bethesda Game Studios has released the first update for Fallout 4 since the release of the native version of the role-playing action game on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The fresh patch fixes the issues that gamers complained about after the release of the non-xtgen update.

In the graphics settings, you can now select the target FPS (30, 40 and 60), as well as set the image preset: Performance or Quality. 40 FPS is only available on 120Hz-capable displays.

The Performance and Quality options use dynamic resolution in busy scenes. Bethesda recommends selecting Performance mode when set to 60 FPS. Switching modes is only available from the main menu.

Additionally, the following issues have been fixed:

  • HDR works again on Xbox Series X|S
  • Fixed a loading order issue that caused DLC to not launch after installing mods before restarting the game (PlayStation 5)
  • Fixed a bug that sometimes caused a crash when returning to the main menu with mods in the download queue (PlayStation 5)
  • Fixed an issue with the character name field in widescreen mode (PC)
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the Creation Club menu to not display (Microsoft Store)

In addition to graphical improvements, the updated version of Fallout 4 has added items to the Creation Club, a new optional Enclave Remnants quest, Steam Deck support, and a host of other improvements.
