Following the release of Stellar Blade, players discovered that two of the costumes, “Celebration Rabbit” and “Cybernetic Bondage,” had been censored, sparking outrage. The developers promised not to engage in censorship, but players, frustrated by the broken promise, started the hashtag #FreeStellarBlade on Twitter and gathered a petition with over 91,000 signatures.
And it seems to have worked. The first update for Stellar Blade brought not only a boss fight mode and new costumes, but also censored versions of “Celebration Rabbit” and “Cybernetic Bondage” in a new color scheme. The censored versions of the costumes featured a strip of fabric across the chest, which was removed in the new versions, giving Eve back her freedom to breathe.
The new costumes, named “Little Red Riding Hood on a Midsummer Night” and “Alice on a Midsummer Night”, are available from Roxanne.
