The people of Senua prospered until the Northmen arrived and began raiding and capturing the natives. To end the suffering of his people, Senua decides to surrender to the Northmen and travels to their lands to find and kill their leader.
On the way, the Northmen's ship is caught in a storm and wrecked. The wounded Senua finds no survivors and makes her way to the powerful slave owner Torgester, son of the leader of all the warriors. She defeats him, takes him prisoner, and forces him to lead the way to his father.
Their journey takes them through a scorched village. Despite Torgester's resistance, Senua resolutely sets out to explore. In the village, she encounters creepy draugrons who are brutally slaughtering the locals.
Senua saves community leader Fargrimr from death and escapes when the draugr summon the giantess Illtauga. She learns that these invincible monsters are the chief terror of these lands, and that the Northmen have been kidnapping Senua's people to sacrifice them and prolong their tranquility. By dealing with the giants, the war can be stopped.
No one believes that monsters can be killed, especially demoralizing Senua the return of her father's voice calling her a lowlife and urging her to flee. But after the events of the first part, Senua has grown stronger and learned to deal with the voices of the Furies, so she continues on her journey with Fargrimr and Torgester.
Senua seeks out the weaknesses of the giants. According to legends, there is a hidden people living in the North who may know the secrets of the giants. Fargrimr points out their dwelling place. After passing the test of the hidden people, Senua descends into a dark cave and overcomes difficult challenges, giving up his main values - torch and sword.
In the finale, the hidden people accept Senua and tell him that the giantess Illtauga was once an ordinary girl named Ingunn. After losing everything she loved, including her child, she turned into a monster out of grief and hopelessness.
On her way out of the caves, Senua realizes that her peculiarities helped her pass the trials. She is not insane, but chosen. Senua knows the name and secrets of the giantess and performs a ritual, freeing Ingunn from pain. The giantess dies.
Inspired by the victory, the heroes head to the capital and pass through a village tormented by another giant. Senua learns from the hidden people that this giant was a traitor who, to save his own life, turned the head of the settlement over to the enemies. Banished and eaten up by guilt, he turned into a monster.
Senua's new friend, Arstridr, whose father was framed by the traitor, helps lure the giant out of the cave. After a brief fight, Senua releases him from his pain, and the giant dies.
The largest giant, for which sacrifices were made, lives near the capital. Along the way, the heroes pass a cursed forest and face their own demons. Senua again struggles with guilt and his father's voice, but eventually everyone makes it out of the forest safely.
In the capital city, Torgester tells his father that Senua is capable of killing a giant. However, the chief does not like the idea: he admires the giant and wants to continue the sacrifices, including Senua.
Torgester rejects his father and the fight begins. Senua hears the hidden people and realizes that the chief is the chief giant, ruling through fear. When the people stopped being afraid, he spawned giants and became a monster himself.
Torgester is mortally wounded, but before he dies, he thanks Senua for changing his life and tells him his father's name. With this knowledge, Senua enters the battle, seeing the people turn their backs on the chief.
The heroine defeats the villain and prepares to finish him off, but hears her father's voice admiring her. At this moment, Senua realizes that fighting the dark side inherited from her father is pointless - it must be embraced. She removes the stone, realizing that she has saved the world and found peace.
