Italian developer One O One Games and publisher META Publishing have unveiled a new game, the psychological thriller Aftermath , coming to PC , Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Two-minute teaser trailer will show the audience the world destroyed by a mysterious event, the main character and the trials that she has to overcome.
The game follows former European astronaut Charlie Gray as she makes her way through a hostile world in a desperate quest to find her daughter. Dramatically structured narrative Aftermath will immerse players in the fundamental questions of philosophy and psychology, like the previous project of the developers The Suicide of Rachel Foster .
The developers are looking to bring new elements to the combat and crafting system. Players will have to master them quickly in order to survive and fight against an otherworldly force that has engulfed the world and threatens them. This menace was created by Italian master photographer Alessandro Bavari , who worked on the design of Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant and Suspiria.
Dive into the brutal and desolate world of Aftermath with an original soundtrack that includes works from the likes of UNKLE and Planet Funk.
“For our team, Aftermath is a chance to create a big, ambitious and innovative game in Italy and we are lucky to have META Publishing as a partner. META believed in our idea and desire to tell a serious story through non-standard survival mechanics, different from those usually used in games of this genre. We really want players to be able to touch the supernatural world we create and its inhabitants!” said David Gallo, CEO of One O One Games.
“We are thrilled to finally share this announcement with the world,” says Ilya Salamatov, CEO of META Publishing. “The One O One team created an incredibly deep character, Charlie, the main character of the game. She used to be at the pinnacle of success, but even though everything in the game is stacked against her, Charlie finds the strength to overcome difficulties and focus on the main thing: saving his daughter. The storytelling approach and themes in Aftermath are truly unique, and we believe people will be talking about them for years to come. The combination of visuals, story, soundtrack and gameplay creates a truly unique game that we are sure will appeal to a huge number of players around the world.”
“This is just the beginning of your dive into the world of Aftermath,” promises Chris Collins, CMO at META Publishing. “Over the coming months and leading up to launch, we will be covering many aspects of Aftermath and sharing a variety of content to help players better understand the game that awaits them. This trailer is full of details and elements that have yet to be revealed. You won't see them all the first time, so stay tuned for news, videos, blog posts, and articles in 2022 for more on Aftermath's philosophy and themes the game brings up. We can't wait to hear what you think!”
