Players will be able to befriend Solas in Dragon Age: The Veilguard The relationship with the character will affect the course of the story
BioWare has announced that the development of the relationship with Solas in Dragon Age: The Veilguard will depend on the player's choice. You can either befriend or be enemies with the elven mage.
The writers are trying to make the game convenient for both long-time fans of Solas and those who are meeting him for the first time. A gameplay video released in June 2024 shows Solas trying to break the veil.
After an unsuccessful attempt, he finds himself trapped, but maintains a telepathic connection with the main character named Rook. According to the developers, Solas sees a reflection of himself in the protagonist, especially those character traits that he finds difficult to admit.
Solas was originally supposed to be the main antagonist of the game, but now this is not so obvious. It is likely that the Dread Wolf will be the reason why the Inquisitor, familiar from the previous part, will appear in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
The game's lead writer Patrick Weeks also explained why the developers abandoned the use of blood magic. In his opinion, this aspect is too unpleasant and does not suit the main character.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be released in the fall of 2024 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
