Showrunner of the House of the Dragon series Ryan Condal said that the fourth season will be the last for the project.
Despite the fact that there is plenty of material for filming a sequel, HBO decided not to play with fire and not to delay the shows. Thus, all fans of the adventures of the Targaryens and their friends and opponents will finish watching the show around 2026.
Filming of the third season will begin in early 2025.
