Launch a pilot with MegaFon, attract investments, make partner integration with Tinkoff: what else did the Phystech.Start finalists manage for the program?
MIPT, being the country's leading technical university, has been developing innovative entrepreneurship both within the university and across the country for a long time. Phystech creates and successfully implements programs for projects of various stages. "Phystech.Start" - is the flagship. Its graduates passed European and American accelerators, made exits, entered the world market, and in total attracted more than half a billion rubles of investments.
For all its fame in the Russian market and proven efficiency for start-ups over the years, Phystech.Start is free, and projects from anywhere in Russia and the world can take part in it.

For example, two graduates of the pre-accelerator of the university "Engineer 4.0" became the finalists of "Phystech.Start". On December 15, the eighth season of the MIPT business accelerator "Phystech.Start" came to an end, which became the largest in the four years of the program's existence. Three tracks were launched: a traditional track in partnership with Startech.vc for startups in various fields, a special GameTech track supported by Green Gray and 1518 Studios , and a track in partnership with MegaFon. Of the 450 applications, 28 were selected, but only 20 startups reached the final. In our material, we will talk about the results of the eighth season, the grant winner, the best projects and their development plans.
The figures for season 8 of the MIPT accelerator speak for themselves. Startups increased their business performance and earned almost 144 million rubles. Received advice from 40 mentors and 80 experts thanks to international partners and the community of successful MIPT alumni "Phystech-Soyuz". The bright speakers of the season were Alexei Sonk, Leonid Boguslavsky, Maxim Mikheenko. Residents have launched 97 pilot versions of products, three of which are based on MegaFon. Three finalists have entered into contracts with large corporations to raise funds, which are currently under NDA. The most investment-attractive project won a grant for the development of a solution of 500 thousand rubles from the Moscow Seed Fund .
Behind all this are founders confident in their product and three months of hard teamwork.

We managed to combine three tracks, we managed to work with game projects and international companies, we were able to find startups to launch pilot projects within MegaFon, and also help startups reach their goals faster,” Arthur Bitsargiz, Head of the MIPT business accelerator Phystech.Start ".
On December 15, at the site of one of the key partners of the program, MegaFon, the founders of the twenty best startups that reached the finals of the accelerator spoke. For the past four seasons, Phystech.Start has been partially implemented online, which is why some of the finalists presented their projects remotely. Startups talked about themselves and their successes in the format of a pitch session.
Let's turn to the comments of the partners and the key results that the finalists managed to achieve for each of the three tracks of the acceleration program.
Startech.vc has been the operator of the program since its inception. The venture company actively develops the ecosystem of technology entrepreneurship through startup programs, provides authoritative advisors and extensive networking, and also invests in promising early-stage startups.
“The accelerator has grown primarily thanks to strong communication and mutual understanding between the operating team, MIPT and corporate partners. Improving the brand, the funnel of experts and the competencies of the accelerator team over the course of four years made it possible to achieve maximum efficiency in terms of helping startups. What projects managed to reach the finals of the accelerator in this track?
Intelligent University is the university of the future for children and adults, combining technology with the educational and gaming universe. Intelligent University automatically creates and updates content, collects feedback, personalizes education and careers. During the program, we achieved a negative price for an attracted client, set up our own production, received more than 80 pre-orders worth more than 2 million rubles, and began testing the product in the USA, Europe, and Singapore.
TRIT helps restaurants and hotels convert dissatisfied customers into loyal ones. The startup offers a quick and confidential chat with the restaurant manager, where you can express all your dissatisfaction and expectations.
“Only we can convert calls into long-term communication without using personal data and having a networking effect,” Anatoly Kozlov, CEO of TRIT.
During the acceleration, we launched 18 pilot projects, successfully entered the US market, found more than 200 clients, as well as about 1,000 companies on the waiting list.
Ariadnamed is a system for supporting medical decision-making on laboratory and instrumental research appointments: after making a diagnosis, the doctor sees on the computer a complete list of necessary appointments in accordance with standards and clinical recommendations.
During the accelerator, the startup made touches with 300 clinics, of which 40 fell into the sales funnel. Five clinics are discussing the terms of the purchase, 2 have purchased the solution.
Edstein is a training and evaluation system for retaining valuable employees. Edstein prepares job profiles and courses from a ready-made set, launches training and assessment in 2 clicks for any team, and builds personalized educational tracks. The team became a grant winner of the accelerator and received 500 thousand rubles from the Moscow Seed Fund.

During its participation in the accelerator, the startup doubled its revenue and signed cooperation agreements with large companies: IVI, QIWI, VTB, Tele2, Innotech.
Volee is a platform for creating active online communities with a high level of engagement for companies, which helps to manage all data and activities in one place.
Revenue for 3 months of acceleration doubled, the startup entered the Wise Guys European accelerator and raised the first round of investments (there is an NDA agreement), became the winner of the Startups Without Borders international summit.
VOL is an environment for corporate communication. The project existed for three years under the name QEX and helped automate business processes for more than 80 companies.
“The new currency in the modern world is your focus and time. Our philosophy is to convey only the most important things to people, and everything else - later, ”- Alexey Tatarinov, CEO of VOL.
Now the project has about 120 companies on the waiting list, including SBER, Tesla, VTB and others .
AdaptEd is a SaaS solution for improving the effectiveness of educational courses. The startup left the MIPT pre-accelerator "Engineer 4.0". The goal is to make online group learning as effective as a one-on-one session with a teacher.
During the accelerator, the startup received 8 new leads, 3 of which are at the pilot stage. We also held a presentation at the MMSO exhibition and increased revenue by 5 times.
Sensemaking Lab (Avatar) is a virtual assistant with live emotions controlled by an NLP engine or a remote operator.
“We are confident that some of the real employees can be replaced by virtual ones. The avatar is displayed on a large display at the entrance and takes on the tasks of front office employees, and can also play the role of a cashier, consultant, concierge,” Oleg Cherezov, CEO of Sensemaking Lab (Avatar).
The project team found 8 new potential customers and 2 technology partners.
Weep Advisor is a system that recognizes the cause of children's crying from audio recordings using a neural network. The startup is a graduate of the MIPT pre-accelerator "Engineer 4.0".
During the program, the team updated the product version, made 50 organic sales and prepared two pilot projects with Baby Houses in Moscow.
Mysterion is a mystery shopper based on software robots for evaluating the quality of online services.
“Where robots cannot cope, experts are involved. As a result, our clients receive regular reports with conclusions and recommendations for implementation in order to reach a new level of service,” Ekaterina Zubtsova, CEO of Mysterion.
During the participation in the accelerator, we launched 10 pilot projects, extended the current contract for a year and received two orders for the next one.
DialTech is a platform for developing smart text and voice chatbots. The solution allows to reduce the cost of development up to 10 times.
During the program, we brought two boxed solutions to the market, achieved conversion at the level of live operators.
For the first time in season 8, the accelerator launched a GameTech track. This was made possible thanks to the support of Green Grey , an international holding company in the mobile industry, and 1518 Studios , a game services studio based in Los Angeles with production worldwide.
“The gaming industry today is zealously asking for new fresh personnel, ideas and business solutions. After the not-so-successful launch of the expected games of this year (Battlefield 2142, GTA Remaster, CoD Vanguard), many clearly see a crisis of ideas and a lack of quality teams on the market. As part of the MIPT accelerator, we noticed a number of startups related to the gaming industry and designed for the international market, which sunk into our souls - they have a strong team and ambitious goals: Beyond, Balance, Edstein, Avatar. Travel Words is a word puzzle game based on a falling crossword puzzle about the travels of a girl who is looking for her father, a famous archaeologist.
“We believe in storytelling because acting is the new cinema. And in a good movie, it is the story that always catches the eye,” Andrey Kudrin, CEO of Travel Words.
During the participation in the accelerator, the indicators of the main metrics were increased, investments were attracted (the NDA agreement is in force), negotiations were held on cooperation with the Green Gray company. The game will be released globally in early 2022.
Biodata is a mobile application with game mechanics for monitoring health data for making recommendations.
During its participation in the accelerator, the startup has made the application more user-friendly and increased engagement, as well as attracted investments (there is an NDA agreement).
“We have already signed a contract with a fitness center and a large company for which we are running a wellness program. Now we have an investment offer open — a $350,000 slot,” Stanislav Skakun, CEO of Biodata.
Brite is a service for personal productivity and mental health. Helps solve the problem of loss of attention and focus of a person when using different applications to solve problems.
During participation in the program, it was possible to increase the return of users by 25%, the community by 200%, get 30,000 installs and 1,500 paying users, and also take first place in applications on the iPad.
Beyond GG is a gaming platform for doubling the audience of a streamer. On the platform, a streamer can create and run a multi-thousand joint game, engage viewers in a new content format and monetize the audience.
The company's revenue for 10 months amounted to about 4 million rubles, as part of partner integration, they began working with Tinkoff Bank, Amazon Web Services and other companies.
Balancy is a startup that accelerates and automates video game development processes. The startup came to the program having one paid client - Light Core Games. During the program, another client was found. Also, about 10 indie studios and a very large company under NDA for 10 years have appeared in the queue for connection.
Senome is an otome visual novel. The user in the game has a dialog box that helps to communicate with the characters. You can change the character of the protagonist with the help of decisions.
During the passage of the accelerator, more than 59 contacts of publishers appeared, two tests were conducted, and an investment proposal was received. The Green Gray company was in talks about cooperation.

In Season 4, Fiztekh.Start and MegaFon have already shown successful experience of interaction: 240 startups have expressed a desire to launch a pilot project based on a leading telecommunications company, 20 of them entered the stage of negotiations with MegaFon.
In the 8th season of the accelerator, there were even more applications, and three startups managed to launch full-fledged pilot projects.
RevGames - computer and mobile games for large businesses. As part of the pilot, we worked on creating gamification in the Megafon mobile application so that the user wants to interact and benefit from contact with the brand.
Planned result: attraction of a young audience, contact with the subscriber, increase in involvement and return and, as a result, revenue growth.
Deeray - AI analytics for calls, chats, NPS and reviews in one place. The startup extracts knowledge about the client from communications and identifies negative trends at the stage of their inception.
During the accelerator, we launched 2 pilots with MegaFon and more than 10 with other companies, became partners with Yandex.Cloud, M.Video and Amazon’s startup programs, received about 10 investment proposals, agreed on budgets with banks from the TOP-5, there was an increase 1200 times in terms of the volume of analyzed data.
ngrow.ai helps mobile apps grow revenue and retain users.
“We came up with an elegant solution to simplify the delivery of push notifications. First, we integrate without code. Secondly, we push directly to the servers, which allows our clients to install us in days, not months. Thirdly, we are replacing marketers and analysts,” Andrey Grigoriev, CEO of Ngrow.ai
To date, about 30 applications are connected to the service, including Nestle and Virus Hunter, 150 million push notifications are sent per day.

Next season, the MIPT accelerator also plans to attract major industrial partners to host several tracks in order to continue to effectively help startups in various fields to scale, gain international expertise, attract investments and launch pilots.
It is known that Green Gray plans to take part in the program in the future. It was decided to create a separate team to increase the efficiency of interaction with the partner.
Applications will open in the first months of 2022.
