Borderlands film adaptation fails to recoup production budget

The film adaptation of the Borderlands game universe has almost stopped collecting the box office, stopping at the $31 million mark.

The authors did not have enough money to even cover the production budget (it is $115 million). Despite the presence of famous actors in the project, the project failed to attract the attention of a wide audience.

Judging by the reviews of Borderlands on Metacritic, neither journalists nor ordinary viewers saw anything remarkable in the film.
