Joaquin Phoenix Could Have Played the Lead Role in Split

American actor James McAvoy told reporters about his role in the psychological thriller Split during another interview.

According to the star, his colleague Joaquin Phoenix was initially considered for the lead role in the film. However, for some reason, he refused to participate in the project 2 weeks before the start of filming. Then McAvoy received an offer to play the role of a guy suffering from multiple personality disorder, and he happily accepted it.

Despite the fact that James had to play a lot of personalities at once, as the actor himself stated, he had no problems with this.
