Blizzard Entertainment has posted a job opening for an associate design director of innovation for an as-yet unannounced open-world shooter project. This immediately sparked rumors among fans about a possible revival of the StarCraft series.
Previously, journalist Jason Schreier reported that Blizzard was developing a shooter in the StarCraft universe, and that Dan Hay, who previously headed the Far Cry series, was appointed as the project's director. The appearance of this vacancy gave fans hope that the project is still in the works and has not been canceled.
However, it is possible that Blizzard may also be working on a shooter in the Warcraft universe or another IP.
There is little information, so the shooter could be based on the StarCraft, Warcraft universe, or a completely new IP.
