Swedish video game developer Starbreeze has officially confirmed that this coming weekend on the Steam platform there will be a promotion during which anyone can play Payday 2 for free. Such access will last until August 16 (not included) and is dedicated to the title's birthday - the release was 8 years old back on August 13th.
What's more, if players hit Payday 2, there's a special discount on the Steam platform that allows you to add the game to your library for only half the price. And this is some 129 rubles on the territory of the Russian Federation. The multiplayer stealth shooter is backed by a plethora of additional content, which is also discounted.
At the time of writing, the peak online Payday 2 on Steam was ~40,630 people. On Metacritic, Payday 2, released back in 2013 (August 13), has 79% of successful votes.
There is little information, so the shooter could be based on the StarCraft, Warcraft universe, or a completely new IP.
