The authoritative edition of Forbes said that on January 14 there was a significant update to the Cyberpunk 2077 files on Steam. This is the first time this has happened since October 2021. Instead of patch 1.4, CD Project RED is rumored to be releasing a major patch 1.5 immediately, which will be available at the same time as the updated versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X.
Last November, CD Projekt CEO Adam Kiczynski stated:
We're hard at work on a remastered next-gen Cyberpunk. The release of the new version is planned for the first quarter of 2022 along with another major update for all platforms.
What updates are prepared for the players in patch 1.5 remains a mystery. CDPR has previously denied long-held rumors that the game will be upgraded to the Samurai Edition. The most anticipated feature of the upcoming update is New Game+, which should arrive with the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions.
