Hackers bypassed the limitation of Nvidia video cards: mining efficiency is 70%

The light at the end of the tunnel is canceled: miners can again mine cryptocurrency on Nvidia video cards, albeit at 70% of maximum efficiency
Hackers bypassed the limitation of Nvidia video cards: mining efficiency is 70%

The latest update of NBMiner, a popular Etherum mining tool, has cracked the Nvidia mining limiter, which is now not as efficient as it used to be. And there is no doubt that this is what caused the repeated excitement around gaming video cards. The Lite Hash Rate technology initially halved the hashrate of GPUs, and NBMiner managed to raise the efficiency to 70%, although the developers of the tool recommend leaving the parameter within 68% for complete stability.

The tool works with the latest Nvidia, Windows and Linux drivers, although it only supports ethereum at the moment. Future updates may add support for other algorithms, which will provide better performance. Sad news for those who never got the 30 series cards. Now the most affordable RTX 3060 and 3060 Ti will again be of interest to miners, which means that the shortage will continue.

The site overclockers.ru has already noticed the difference: the RTX 3060 disappeared from the store shelves, and the prices for those that remained suddenly jumped. However, by the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022, it is expected that the ethereum cryptocurrency will no longer be used for mining.
