Footballer Mason Greenwood has reportedly been removed from the FIFA 22 player roster following allegations of rape and battery.
According to the Manchester Evening News , the image of the footballer has been removed from all platforms (PlayStation, Xbox, PC) for offline modes, he has been removed from the Manchester United squad. However, at present, the footballer is still available in the Ultimate Team mode, and it can be bought.
Greenwood was arrested on January 30 on suspicion of raping and assaulting a girl. Manchester Police received intelligence about "images and videos on social media posted by a girl reporting incidents of physical abuse" and added that "a man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of rape and assault."
Greenwood currently remains in custody.
Manchester United said in a statement that the club "does not condone violence of any kind" and confirmed that Greenwood will not return to training or games until the circumstances are clarified.
This isn't the first time EA has removed players like this. Manchester City footballer Benjamin Mendy has been expelled from the game on charges of rape and sexual harassment.
